{"id":83581,"date":"2025-04-26T10:56:07","date_gmt":"2025-04-26T08:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/%d0%b7%d0%b0%d0%b7%d0%be%d1%80%d1%83%d0%b2%d0%b0-2025\/"},"modified":"2025-04-27T01:27:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-26T23:27:49","slug":"zazoruva-concert-2025","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/inspirations\/zazoruva-concert-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Zazoruva, concert, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1>\n\t\tZazoruva, concert, 2025\n\t<\/h1>\n\t<p>Zazoruva (&#8220;Dawning&#8221;) follows a nocturnal transformation through four poems by Macedonian poet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/display-case\/\">Aco \u0160opov<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/nightfall\/\">Nightfall<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/if-there-isnt-enough-light-for-you\/\">If There Isn&#8217;t Enough Light for You<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/the-song-and-the-years\/\">The Song and the Years<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/waking\/\">Waking<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The cycle begins as a lullaby, tracing a journey from twilight consciousness, through dreams, to daybreak. In the dream-space, the protagonist moves from desperate offerings of self to a dissolution of time and being. When dawn finally breaks, the world emerges both familiar and irrevocably changed &#8211; &#8220;Do not be amazed. It is daytime.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Drawing from Macedonia&#8217;s musical heritage, the piece weaves together irregular rhythms and ornate melodic lines characteristic of traditional music with the distinctive pulse and sonic colours of the Macedonian language itself. The interaction between solo voice and chorus creates a dreamspace where individual experience meets collective memory. Originally from, and currently based in Toronto, Michael is a graduate of McGill University (M.Mus composition 2022) and the Mannes School of Music (B.Mus composition 2018).<\/p>\n<p>As a composer, Michael has been commissioned by a variety of soloists and ensembles, and has had works performed across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Michael is an active accompanist and music director, also working professionally as a film composer, teacher, church musician, blues pianist, actor, and choir member.
