Tribute to \u0160opov at UNESCO\t<\/h1>\n\t<h2>The Centenary of Aco \u0160opov&#8217;s birth was celebrated in association with UNESCO, in the Headquarters of the International Organization, on 21st of March 2023.<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/bb-plugin\/img\/pixel.png\" alt=\"\" itemprop=\"image\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/EVENT-UNESCO-EN-FR-WEB-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Events in Honour of Aco \u0160opov at UNESCO. See the program.\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"1527\" width=\"2560\" title=\"EVENTS UNESCO \u0160OPOV EN, FR - WEB\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<p>In 2021, the General Conference of UNESCO, at its 41st session, decided to be associated with the celebration of the Hundredth anniversary of the birth of Aco \u0160opov, following the proposal of North Macedonia, with the support of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, France, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Tunisia.<\/p>\n<p>Following this decision, a vibrant tribute was paid to Aco \u0160opov at UNESCO on March 23, 2023, World Poetry Day, with the participation of Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, and Stevo Pendarovski, President of North Macedonia.<\/p>\n<p>The tribute to Aco \u0160opov at UNESCO was also part of the national programme &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/events\/2023-year-homage-sopov\/\">2023, Year of homage to Aco \u0160opov<\/a>,&#8221; under the patronage of Mr Stevo Pendarovski.<\/p>\n<p>The program of the Day was divided into four sections: Official inauguration with the participation of the Director-General of UNESCO and the Macedonian Head of State; International symposium in honor of Aco \u0160opov, on the theme &#8220;Poetry: Creativity, Translation and Circulation of Works in Languages of Lesser Diffusion&#8221;; A multilingual and multimedia poetry performance &#8216;The Long Coming of the Fire&#8217; inspired by \u0160opov&#8217;s poetry; and an exhibition, &#8220;The Road I Walk&#8221;, on the creative journey of Aco \u0160opov.<\/p>\n<p>More that 20 participants attended the event, coming from: Argentina, Canada, Croatia, France, Italy, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Mexico, Poland, Senegal, Spain and Tunisia.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/events\/program-day-made-in-poetry-unesco-2023\/\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tProgram of the &#8220;Day Made In Poetry&#8221;\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/131897504@N08\/albums\/72177720306872166\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOfficial UNESCO pictures of the event\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/mhpBiEOLswQ?si=rA86wkMDPC5UWR1z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLive-Streaming and podcast of the event\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/events\/2023-year-homage-sopov\/\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMore about 2023, A Year of Homage to Aco \u0160opov\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acosopov.com\/en\/events\/\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOther events related to \u0160opov\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Day Made In Poetry!
