Aco Šopov: Anthologie personnelle (Personal Anthology), Actes Sud/Collection UNESCO d’Oeuvres représentatives, 1994
“Poetry – and more so this poetry – removes us from time and space all the while anckoring us mysteriously over time and in specific places. As violent as it is tender underneath, it speaks the truth in accessing the innermost being.”
This is how UNESCO Director General Federico Mayor defined Aco Šopov’s poetry when this book adapted into French by the Mauritian poet Edouard J. Maunick was launched.
Macedonian television devoted a program to the promotion of this book in Skopje. Here are a few excerpts: Edouard J. Maunick, Fernando Aïnsa, director of the UNESCO Collection of Representative Works, and Sabine Wesspiser, publisher at Actes Sud.
